Power Carved Floating Wood Slab Shelf Project

This was my first power carving project using a King Arthur’s Tools 45814 Lancelot attachment for my angle grinder. I am not 100% sure what the wood species is since I picked up this slab from a local habit for humanity building supply store. It’s probably cypress given the grain, weight, and my local area. I used some Harbor Freight abrasive sheel attachments to smooth things out a bit.
The stain is a custom mixture of min-wax products. I purchased the pipe, flanges, and caps off of ebay.
