I’ve had this project in mind for several years, now. And when BeaverCraft sent me these knives to try out, I decided it was the perfect time to carve it!
I thought it was real nice of them to send me a package of bandaids too, just in case.
I really enjoy the peace and quiet of carving with hand tools. It’s really relaxing!
I’ve been following the work of a fellow wood carver for many years, now. He lives along the creek back up in the hills. Today me and Pearl decided to pay him a visit. Here’s an example of one of his recent carvings…and here’s one of his older works. When it comes to building, he’s a master of his trade. The beaver was the very first wood carver. And I”ve always admired his work.
“What’s in there? It looks like the Beavers used to live in there, anyway. They’ve been woodcarving a lot longer than I have. There’s a ready-made, beaver-carved walking stick, right there. Come on Pearl!”
I really like all the blade profiles of these knives. There is a shape for just about everything that you need.
Carving like a Beaver is a lot of fun!
Pearl enjoys carving like a Beaver, too!
She’s doing a pretty good job of it.
I use the wood burner to add details to the fur.
If you’re interested in carving like a Beaver, there is a link in the description where you can purchase a fine set of carving tools.
Thanks for watching! I’ll see you on the next one!
