DRILLING AND SAWING TOOLS
A rotary bolt and a drill with a set of bits are used to drill various holes in workpieces. It is more convenient to drill large holes with a rotary bolt, and small holes with a drill. Drills can be twist drills, feather drills, universal drills of different diameters and others.
Spiral drills are convenient for making small and precise holes, they are good for drilling both soft and hard wood. Spiral drills that have been resharpened for wood considerably speed up the drilling process. Extended drill bits can be used to make very deep holes.
Feather drills (center feathers) are good for drilling holes in soft wood, including large diameters. The disadvantage of feather drills is that they squeeze out the wood at the end of the hole and cause chipping. To avoid this, do not drill through the material at one time, when the center of the hole appears on the back side of the material, it is necessary to turn the workpiece and finish drilling on the other side.
The multi-purpose drill replaces the entire drill set. You can easily set the drill bit to the right size and drill holes of 25 to 80 mm in diameter.
Drill bits, screw drills and spoon drills are very handy for drilling very deep holes, although the speed is slow.
