#woodworking #woodcarving
Wood carving is required to have a pattern. Decorative patterns will be sketched on paper at the ratio of 1: 1, the carpenter will base on the sketch of patterns on paper and then proceed to draw on the wooden surface according to the correct size.
Draw decorative patterns on wood before proceeding with wood carving to make the work easier and with high accuracy and not deviation from the drawing.
Wood carving is a form of woodworking by means of a cutting tool (knife) in one hand or a chisel by two hands or with one hand on a chisel and one hand on a mallet, resulting in a wooden figure or figurine, or in the sculptural ornamentation of a wooden object.
Wood carvings have been around for thousands of years, with only simple tools (knives, chisels) artisans can create wonderful beautiful works of art.
However, at the present time, with modern machines (CNC machines) can easily replace humans in wood carving. The traditional wood carving profession is no longer developing and is disappearing. Only a few people still retain great carving skills comparable to those of the old wood carvers.
