Carved Hand Bird Feeder – Woodcarving Project
Carved Hand Bird Feeder – Woodcarving Project
I recently carved a hand and used it as a bird feeder in the garden, this was part of a challenge put forward by my friend on Twitch, TexasHula. It’s a rather complicated woodcarving project to carve a hand and I could have easily spent another 10 hours on it but it had a deadline, which I only just managed to finish by.
I carved this hand from maple because it was the only big chunk of wood that I had that was the correct size. I have since learned that maple is not very suitable for outdoor applications! But that’s ok, we’ll see how long it lasts.
At the end of the video you can see that I placed some raisins in the hand to attract blackbirds, they seem to be crazy for raisins!
