In this Cricut Tutorial for Beginners – Craft-O-Ween edition… I’m showing you how to burn pictures into wood with your Cricut! This is an easy, step by step Cricut tutorial that you can use with the Cricut Joy, Cricut Explore Air 2, or Cricut Maker! This is a really cool technique with the Ammonium Chloride that can be used to chemically burn / brand photos, designs, monograms, etc. into wood without a wood burning kit and without a branding iron! This is a GREAT scorch pen / scorch marker alternative!!

Hey y’all! Since putting out my wood burning video, I’ve been working with various wooden surfaces for other videos. I’ve found that when the wood has more of a “porous” / splinter-ey feel to it (yes, I just made up that word 😂) even with the thick-it it can tend to bleed a little. A GREAT solution that I’ve found for that is just giving the wood a light sand with something like 220 grit sandpaper until it feels SUPER smooth. Doing that virtually eliminated all of the bleeding! I hope that helps!

Ammonium Chloride is relatively safe and the wood you chemically burn with it “should” be food safe after washing off any leftover residue, but please do your own research before attempting this.
