I Am His Part 6 of 8 Signing Your Project

This video series demonstrates how to use a band saw, oscillating spindle sander, router table and a trim router to create a beautiful framed walnut carving with outset letters and a smooth background. The eight segments of this series include:

1. Design and Image Transfer to the Wood
2. Scroll Cutting on a Bandsaw
3. Cutting Coves on a Router Table
4. Outlining with a V-Groove Router
5. Lowering the Background
6. Signing Your Project with a Router
7. The Finishing Touches
8. Using Ordinary Tools / Special Guest

This series introduces a carving style that really showcases the beauty of wood. The outset letters and borders are hand painted with a complementary color but the main finish is lacquer. The big tools are used to demonstrate their setup and use. However, the final segment shows how to do the same cuts with inexpensive, ordinary tools.

The carving featured in this video series was created to celebrate the incredible work that the Holy Spirit has done in the life of a unique person. Set free from over 20 years of drug addiction and perversion, she now leads others to freedom and restoration. If you know someone who is struggling with bondages and addictions, be sure to watch Part-8 where I introduce her and let her tell you about the road to freedom.

All of my carvings are created to proclaim the wonderful grace and faithfulness of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom I have loved for 40 years. This design is deeply meaningful to me because it is the central cry of my life that I can declare – above everything else – that I am HIS!

100% of the sale of our carvings is used to feed children through Voice of Hope Ministries in Leon, Nicaragua. This is a wonderful ministry that nurtures the entire person – body, soul and spirit. You can find contact information for them on our website, HisWordInWood.com. We have created designs in English, Spanish, Hebrew and even Chinese but, if we can figure out what it looks like, we’ll work in any language. If it honors the Lord and encourages people, we’ll carve it!
