Many people think that small patterns will be easy to carve, and conversely large patterns will be difficult to carve. But the reality is not so, small patterns will be difficult to carve, small details require high precision, if not careful the carpenter can destroy it.

Wood carving is a form of woodworking by means of a cutting tool (knife) in one hand or a chisel by two hands or with one hand on a chisel and one hand on a mallet, resulting in a wooden figure or figurine, or in the sculptural ornamentation of a wooden object.
Wood carvings have been around for thousands of years, with only simple tools (knives, chisels) artisans can create wonderful beautiful works of art.
However, at the present time, with modern machines (CNC machines) can easily replace humans in wood carving. The traditional wood carving profession is no longer developing and is disappearing. Only a few people still retain great carving skills comparable to those of the old wood carvers.
